Here is a little about us.

Coton de Tulear litter
Hi! I am a native of Colorado who was born and lived in the Denver area until I married and we settled in Evergreen to raise our children. We have always had animals in our lives, from horses, dogs, cats, birds, to even snakes when my middle son was young. While raising three children, I have worked at my own cleaning business, a receptionist for lawyers and former IRS agents, did research for a Human Relations research company, and worked as a real estate agent assistant.

We have since moved to the western slop at the foot of the largest Mesa in this country, the Grand Mesa. On the SW side of us there are the San Juan mountains. So we have many opportunities to go hiking and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Our home is just on the outskirts of Delta. With 6 acres there is a lovely sense of seclusion. We are situated in a stand of trees that helps cool the summers. And since the winters are so mild, as least as far as snow is concerned, it is easier to brave the cold temperatures. It is not unusual for deer to come and visit us. I enjoy photography and growing our own veggies when my puppy mommy duties allow.

My husband, Dwight, is as semi-retired as is possible in this economy. In his spare time, he is restoring a 1951 Ferguson tractor that his dad used when Dwight and his brothers were young. It is a sentimental journey for him. He has one other restoration project under his belt: A 1956 Chevy.
Coton de Tulear puppies
How did we become a Coton de Tulear family you ask? I was doing research on different breeds and came across the Coton de Tulear. What a name! But I was impressed with the personality and health the breed still possessed, not having been so inbred as many of the more popular breeds are anymore.
Coton de Tulear Nikka
That was how it all started. I found our first girl, Nikka. That little bundle of fur stole our hearts and maybe our good sense, but we were hooked. And the rest is history as they say. Well, I sort of skipped over all of the research, talking to breeders, wondering if in my fifties I would be able to do the showing, let alone find the right dogs for my breeding program. Well, I did, and here we are. It has been and continues to be a learning experience with much joy and laughter thanks to these wonderful bundles of love and personality.
Our goal is to breed the healthiest, happiest Coton de Tulear puppies that we possibly can. To that end we extensively health test our dogs including CERF, patellas, heart, kidney, thyroid, among others. They drink the filtered water that we drink and enjoy a varied rotation type diet. I only use natural cleaning products on them and around our home. We start socializing the puppies with daily handling and weighing from birth. As they become older we provide appropriate toys to stimulate their intelligence and begin introducing them to new experiences. By six weeks they are used to sleeping in a crate through the night and staying dry.
Thanks for stopping by! We hope you enjoy our website, especially the pictures of the litters we have had over the last seven years.
